ALTIMA

The Altima is designed to be a family-friendly sedan that coasts along the middle of the road, neither more nor less impressive than its competition. Nissan’s design quality shows under the hood of the latest Altima, but the oversized tires do make for a slightly bumpier ride than other models. All of which means that keeping the suspension and alignment in good condition is especially important because you will feel it if there’s something wrong. Looking for an all-wheel-drive vehicle that’s fuel-efficient? The Altima has you covered, so long as your mechanic is comfortable keeping the drivetrain in good condition.

ARMADA

The Armada might not be quite as well known as large domestic SUVs, but that’s a shame. This model is large and in charge, but also incredibly comfortable and packed with plenty of features that might surprise you given the price. Things like the rear suspension system, 400 hp V-8 engine, and competent drivetrain might not be unique to the Armada, but Nissan has done a good job of designing a system that works together from tip to tail. That means that you need a mechanic that can preserve that balance of function, keep the suspension systems working together, and make sure your brakes are ready to stop the Armada even when it’s at speed. It’s not impossible work, but it takes the kind of eye for detail you get at Precision Auto Care.

FRONTIER

The Frontier took a while to come out, but it’s a solid mid-size truck. Nissan isn’t quite as experienced at putting trucks together though, which leads to some maintenance challenges if you want to keep this truck running as smoothly and driving as easily as its competitors. For one thing, the Frontier has relatively tough steering action, taking more muscle power than your average vehicle. But the Frontier makes up for it with rear or four-wheel drive, a powerful engine, and good suspension systems that help smooth out bumps. Not to mention a cabin that helps cut road noise to a reasonable minimum. That said, the suspension, engine, and brakes all need regular maintenance on the latest Frontier, and earlier models even more so. It’s not so much that the Frontier is more likely to have parts failures in those areas as that you’re more likely to notice minor changes and wear and tear.

MAXIMA

The Maxima is another good middle-of-the-road mid-side sedan option from Nissan. Powerful for its size and design, the Maxima still manages to offer reasonable fuel economy, a comfortable interior, and the kind of suspension Nissan owners love. There are also a lot of internal cabin features, particularly when you’ve chosen an upgraded trim level. All those features mean you need a mechanic comfortable working with a lot of different features and adjustments, as well as someone who knows how to keep your Maxima driving the way it should. Its powerful acceleration and reasonable horsepower need a mechanic who knows how far above expectations a Maxima can perform – and who is willing to put in the work to keep it performing that way.

PATHFINDER

The Pathfinder is a good option for drivers who want a moderately adventurous SUV but aren’t asking for something as capable – or touchy, as a Jeep. With a fuel-efficient design even in all-wheel drive, the Pathfinder is an SUV that does what it needs to without a lot of TLC required. But, just because your Pathfinder doesn’t need TLC to keep going doesn’t mean that it won’t benefit from some high-quality maintenance. Oil changes, transmission maintenance, checking your belts and coolant levels, and especially brake checks are all great steps to keep your Pathfinder running better and longer. Need a new mechanic for your Nissan? Trust Precision Auto Care to give your vehicle the high-quality maintenance it deserves.
