Brake Replacement
Is it time for new brakes? Are you hearing any squeaking or screeching coming from your car? It may be just your brake pads, or you might need a complete brake replacement. Just bring your car in or have it towed to our shop and we’ll take a look.
1. Transmission Shudder, Slipping, And Total Failure
Problem:
Your transmission should shift smoothly and effortlessly. Instead, many 2010-2017 Ford Fusions with the 6F35 automatic transmission experience hard shifts, slipping gears, and sudden power loss. Some drivers notice hesitation. Others get a “Transmission Overheat” warning before the car stops responding altogether.
These failures stem from worn clutch packs, faulty valve bodies, and weak torque converters. Ford issued software updates, but those are band-aid fixes. If internal damage has already occurred, no software patch will undo it.
Solution:
We connect your Fusion to advanced diagnostic tools and scan for transmission control module (TCM) errors, solenoid failures, and pressure inconsistencies. If a software update will resolve the issue, we update the TCM.
If internal wear is detected, we inspect for burnt clutch material, worn-out valve body components, and torque converter degradation. We replace failing parts with upgraded components designed for long-term durability. After repairs, we flush old transmission fluid, install factory-spec Mercon LV, and recalibrate shift points to restore seamless shifting and acceleration.
2. Power Steering Failure That Can Leave You Stranded
Problem:
Steering should be effortless and precise. But in 2010-2012 Ford Fusions, the Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system can fail without warning. One moment, your car turns smoothly. The next, the steering wheel feels like dead weight.
The problem comes from an internal failure in the steering rack’s electronic motor control. Ford recalled some vehicles, but many Fusions still have racks that are on the verge of failure. Lose power steering on the freeway, and you’re fighting the wheel just to stay in your lane.
Solution:
We perform a full EPAS system scan to identify control module faults or motor failures. If software corruption is detected, we update the system. If the steering rack itself has failed, we install a remanufactured unit that corrects the original design flaws. After installation, we complete an electronic steering calibration to restore smooth, controlled handling.
3. Coolant Leaks That Destroy Engines
Problem:
Engines need coolant. Lose it, and your engine overheats. Overheat, and your engine fails.
Certain 2013-2020 Ford Fusions with 1.5L and 2.0L EcoBoost engines suffer from internal coolant leaks. The coolant doesn’t puddle under the car. Instead, it seeps into the cylinders and burns off. White smoke from the exhaust, a misfiring engine, and an unexplained drop in coolant levels are all warning signs.
Ignore this issue, and you risk warped cylinder heads, blown head gaskets, and total engine failure.
Solution:
We pressure-test the cooling system to find the exact leak source. If coolant is leaking into the combustion chambers, we replace the cylinder head, head gasket, or in severe cases, the entire short block. After repairs, we refill with factory-approved coolant, purge air pockets, and confirm proper engine temperature regulation.
4. Brake Fluid Leaks That Kill Stopping Power
Problem:
Brakes should be firm and immediate. But in 2013-2018 Ford Fusions, the front brake hoses crack, leak fluid, and reduce stopping power. The first sign is a soft pedal. As the leak worsens, your stopping distance increases. Lose too much fluid, and your brakes may fail entirely.
Solution:
We inspect brake hoses, calipers, and fluid lines for cracks and seepage. If we find any weak points, we install reinforced, high-durability replacements. After installation, we flush the brake system completely to restore full hydraulic pressure and ensure firm, responsive braking.
5. Swollen Lug Nuts That Leave You Stranded
Problem:
Lug nuts should hold your wheels in place and come off when needed. But 2010-2019 Ford Fusions use two-piece chrome-capped lug nuts that swell, strip, and become impossible to remove.
Many drivers discover this at the worst time—stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire, unable to remove their wheel.
Solution:
We replace swollen, stripped, or distorted lug nuts with one-piece, solid steel replacements that won’t expand under heat. Before your car leaves, we torque every lug nut to factory specifications, ensuring you’ll never get stuck with an unremovable wheel again.
6. Door Latches That Fail At High Speeds
Problem:
Doors are supposed to stay shut while driving. But in 2013-2016 Ford Fusions, defective latches can fail unexpectedly. Some doors refuse to latch shut. Others fly open on the highway.
If this happens at 70 mph, the results could be catastrophic.
Solution:
We replace weak, defective latches with reinforced OEM replacements that meet Ford’s updated safety standards. After installation, we perform extensive security tests to ensure each door latches properly and stays shut under real-world driving conditions.
7. Airbags That Don’t Deploy When You Need Them Most
Problem:
Airbags exist for one reason—to protect you in a crash. But in 2010-2014 Ford Fusion models, defective crash sensors and inflators can prevent deployment. The airbag light may warn you, but in some cases, the system fails without a sign.
If your airbags don’t deploy in an accident, the consequences could be life-threatening.
Solution:
We perform a complete airbag system diagnostic, scanning for faulty sensors, inflators, and control module errors. If we detect any issues, we replace the defective components with manufacturer-approved replacements. After repairs, we reset the airbag system and confirm full deployment readiness.
